Guests at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event were given a new look at the progress being made on the highly anticipated Encanto attraction coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom as part of the new Tropical Americas land.

A newly shared construction photo provides an impressive glimpse inside the attraction’s massive show building. While much of the space is still in the construction phase, the scale of the building is becoming increasingly clear. Structural supports, overhead systems, electrical work and construction equipment fill the space as crews continue preparing the interior for the attraction’s elaborate show scenes.

The attraction will take guests inside the magical Casita Madrigal, where Antonio has received his special gift of communicating with animals. Disney has previously described the experience as a journey through Antonio’s transformed rainforest room, bringing guests into the world of the Madrigal family.

The new interior photo is particularly exciting because it offers a look at the space where that story will eventually come to life. With the building now enclosed and significant interior work underway, the project is moving well beyond the early stages of construction and into the process of transforming the enormous structure into a fully immersive Encanto environment.

The Encanto attraction is one of two major attractions planned for the 11-acre Tropical Americas expansion replacing DinoLand U.S.A. Disney currently plans for Tropical Americas to open in 2027.

There’s still plenty of work ahead, but this latest look makes the future attraction feel much more tangible—and gives fans their best glimpse yet at the space that will eventually become the magical world of the Madrigals.
