During the Disney Experiences Showcase at this years D23, it was announced that a working Yeti would be returning to Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom.

Referred to some as “Disco Yeti”, the animatronic has not worked for many years and has used lighting effects to recreate the movement it once had.

Disney did not say when the ride would close in order to update the animatronic or how it would be updated.
