Disney revealed new details about the highly anticipated Coco attraction coming to Disney California Adventure during D23 2026.

The family-friendly attraction will take guests into the world of Miguel, beginning about a year after the events of the original film. The experience will start in a “casa museo” celebrating the music of Miguel’s great-great-grandfather, Héctor Rivera, before guests board a boat and journey with Miguel through his memories of the Land of the Dead.

Fans can expect appearances from familiar characters including Miguel, Dante and Héctor, along with plenty of music, Mexican culture and the themes of family that made Coco so beloved. Disney Imagineers are also working closely with Pixar as Coco 2 moves forward, allowing the attraction to incorporate elements from both films.

The attraction is currently under construction near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier. Imagineers are drawing inspiration from classic Disney attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion, including the use of the latest Audio-Animatronics technology.

Best of all, there will be no height requirement, making the new Coco attraction an experience the entire family can enjoy when it opens at Disney California Adventure.
