A new attraction coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom is putting a Disney twist on a classic carousel. During D23, Disney revealed El Carrusel de los Animalitos, or “The Animals’ Carousel,” coming to the heart of the new Tropical Americas land.

Rather than traditional carousel horses, guests will be able to ride aboard 22 unique Disney animal characters, each inspired by beloved animated films and brought to life as handcrafted wooden figures. The lineup includes characters such as Genie, Scuttle, Kuzco, Kaa, Heimlich, Pascal and Simba, giving the attraction a colorful mix of characters from across Disney Animation and Pixar.

The carousel is designed to fit naturally within Pueblo Esperanza, the fictional town at the center of Tropical Americas. Its handcrafted appearance and animal-inspired theme are intended to complement the land’s focus on the wildlife and cultures of Central and South America while giving families a lighthearted attraction to enjoy together.

El Carrusel de los Animalitos will join the new Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions as part of the transformation of the former DinoLand U.S.A. area. Tropical Americas is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in 2027.
