Disney gave fans another look at Piston Peak National Park, the upcoming Cars-themed expansion at Magic Kingdom, with a massive scale model unveiled this week at D23’s Imagineering: Horizons pavilion.

The model provides the clearest look yet at how the new Frontierland area will come together. The centerpiece is the off-road rally attraction, with its course winding through mountains, wooded areas, bridges, waterfalls and rugged trails. The model also offers the first substantial look at the second, family-focused attraction, which appears to feature a circular layout flat ride styler and Miss Fritter from Cars 3.

Perhaps the biggest takeaway is the sheer amount of theming packed into the expansion. Snow-capped mountains, streams, rockwork, trails and park-style structures surround the attractions, giving Piston Peak a distinctly different look from the desert setting of Cars Land at Disneyland.

The model also reveals new details about the characters that will inhabit Piston Peak, including Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore and the unique “Goat-Carts” that will populate the rally course.

After months of construction and speculation, the D23 model finally gives guests a chance to see Piston Peak as a complete environment rather than simply a collection of concept art. And based on what Disney has revealed, the new land is shaping up to be a major transformation of Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland.
